David Borrington trades under, Dekkle Printmaking Studio limited (Company Number 06742425) Our website address is: http://dekkle.com collects information about individuals who engage with the organisation through attending events, exhibitions, courses and opportunities. This information is only used by Dekkle Printmaking Studio limited (hereafter DEKKLE) and helps with the administration, implementation and planning of the programme and studio space activities. DEKKLE is aware of the importance of handling this data securely and has systems in place to ensure this happens.
Collection of Information by DEKKLE
DEKKLE collects information when an individual makes an enquiry about our services; book onto a course; request to be added to a waiting list; provide feedback after a course or event or signs up to our mailing list. This information is collected in person from our course booking system or online using our website.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

How this information is used by DEKKLE

- • To process your booking for a course.
- • To provide you with information about DEKKLE courses,exhibitions, events, opportunities and any changes being made to the organisation or website, through newsletters, emails and/or post, as per your preferences.
- • To respond to any queries about DEKKLE services or waiting list requests.
- • To ask for further feedback on a course, event or service you may have taken part in. This helps with our evaluation and to review the services we provide.
DEKKLE will only communicate information that you have requested to receive, which may include courses, exhibitions, events and opportunities. This also includes notifying you of special offers but only if you have opted into this communication list.
You can stop receiving these communications at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us via telephone or in writing (please see the ‘How can you opt out?’ section below).
What procedures are in place to safeguard this information
DEKKLE safeguards this information by using secure passwords on all PCs on which information is held; keeping PC and paper records locked away, controlling access to the information, holding backup files should data be lost due to flood or fire.
We follow procedures in the storage and disclosure of the information given to us, to prevent unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or loss of information under our control.
Who has access to this information
Access is limited to DEKKLE staff and your information is only accessed when they need your details to provide the service required by you. We will not sell or rent your information to third parties, this includes not sharing your information with third parties for marketing purposes.

How we keep this information on file
DEKKLE will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was obtained. Due to the change in data law, from May 2018 we will regularly ask you to confirm you wish to stay on our mailing lists, we plan this to take place a minimum of every three years after you first opted in. You can opt out at any time – see below.
Should you wish to unsubscribe from our mailing list we may still hold your personal data on our database to the extent permitted by law.
How can you opt out
You can choose whether or not you wish to receive information from us, we will not make contact with you unless you have opted in. If you no longer want to receive direct communications from us via Mail Chimp, then you can change your preferences or completely unsubscribe –

Alternatively, you can contact DEKKLE directly –

We will not contact you for marketing purposes by email or phone unless you have given your prior consent. If you have not consented to receive newsletters, we may still contact you in relation to your course booking, where it is necessary in order to fulfil that service to you. We will respond to your request to modify or delete information within 28 days.
When someone visits www.dekkle.com we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make and do not allow Google to make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
You can opt out from Google Analytics using the Google Analytics Opt Out add-on for your web browser, available directly from Google.
We collect information about you during the checkout process on our store.
What we collect and store
While you visit our site, we’ll track:
- Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
- Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
- Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order!
When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:
- Send you information about your account and order
- Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Set up your account for our store
- Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
- Improve our store offerings
- Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them
If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.
We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 10 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.
We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.
Who on our team has access
Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:
- Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
- Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.
We accept payments through Stripe. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to Stripe, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Under Article 17 of the GDPR individuals have ‘the right to be forgotten’, meaning they have the right to have personal data erased. You are legally entitled to access, modify, correct, revoke your consent and delete any data we hold relating to you and that you have the legal right to forbid this data being presented to any third parties.
