“PHONETICALLY SPEAKING” To reflect the fast pace of world news, my blog is probably best served as a stream-of-consciousness text. Fast and unadulterated. With this approach, and on first encounter, text might not seem to scan. This is because I am dyslexic. Instead of keeping the proof-readers busy, I would rather let my blog updates of my visual work stand as a record of my experience of dyslexia, which I am keen that you now get to enjoy too. Unlike some news outlets, I hereby excuse myself the need for a ‘corrections’ section! The excitement of a new language is something I’m quite familiar with, and it is with this ‘joie de vivre’ that I am delighted to guide you through my thought and work processes, more phonetically (than fanatically) speaking.

In the unfolding tapestry of our world's unraveling, "Aurora Australis" stands as the final lament—a breathtaking symphony of colors that both mesmerizes and evokes profound, somber reflection. The hue that dances and swirls within this masterpiece mimics the celestial lights of the Southern Hemisphere, yet it also echoes the spiral of civilization as it descends into the disquieting embrace of the so-called "new normal" perpetuated by the hands of the privileged elite. The marble, meticulously arranged and artfully embedded within the heart of the piece, embodies the flickering lights in the sky during the auroral display. However, in its choreographed dance of despair, it illuminates a narrative of humanity's struggle against an escalating tide of challenges. The marble, once vibrant and full of life, now showcases a melancholic array of colors—a poignant reminder of the irreplaceable losses suffered by our world. Lives lost, ecosystems decimated, and societies shattered; all of these tragedies could have been mitigated, perhaps even averted, were it not for the insatiable greed and apathy that characterize the behavior of the privileged few.
