“PHONETICALLY SPEAKING” To reflect the fast pace of world news, my blog is probably best served as a stream-of-consciousness text. Fast and unadulterated. With this approach, and on first encounter, text might not seem to scan. This is because I am dyslexic. Instead of keeping the proof-readers busy, I would rather let my blog updates of my visual work stand as a record of my experience of dyslexia, which I am keen that you now get to enjoy too. Unlike some news outlets, I hereby excuse myself the need for a ‘corrections’ section! The excitement of a new language is something I’m quite familiar with, and it is with this ‘joie de vivre’ that I am delighted to guide you through my thought and work processes, more phonetically (than fanatically) speaking.
Gentlemen, it only took 171 years
‘Gentlemen, it only took 171 years to create the largest Hyperbole tax of all time, from the last time we tried it. Our ancestors would be proud of this achievement, especially as we have generated a multi-billion-pound industry behind it.’
My drawing is based on the A Vision of the Repeal of the Window Tax. Hollo! Old Fellow, we’re glad to see you here”
A Hyperbole tax based in some form of 2-pixel logic, completely ignoring the larger picture. The cheapest lodgings were in tenement blocks which had many windows, and they weren’t exempt from the tax. A complete failure, just like taxes on carbon fuels. A miracle fuel for mankind brought more people out of poverty than any other human invention. This along with the principles of the free market, which is simultaneously under attack.
EU approves CO2 tax on heating and transport for 2027 for everyone in the block. From making a cup of tea, driving down the road to keeping yourself warm, you can make sure that you are saving the planet. Your sacrifice of your freedoms and liberties for “our” new normal. Your submission to our plans is necessary to stop global disasters. “Our science” has proved it.
The endeavor of humanity to improve the efficiency and cleanliness of carbon-based technologies has always been there, from the very first steam engines. This predates the late 19th century climate change propagandists. This is clearly a political move to take power, absolutely nothing to do with the planet.
Pascal Canfin, the chairman of the Parliament’s environment committee saying it was “politically suicidal” and risked triggering a Europe-wide revolt like the Yellow Vests in France. This is telling as the yellow vest movement is a people’s revolt.
