“PHONETICALLY SPEAKING” To reflect the fast pace of world news, my blog is probably best served as a stream-of-consciousness text. Fast and unadulterated. With this approach, and on first encounter, text might not seem to scan. This is because I am dyslexic. Instead of keeping the proof-readers busy, I would rather let my blog updates of my visual work stand as a record of my experience of dyslexia, which I am keen that you now get to enjoy too. Unlike some news outlets, I hereby excuse myself the need for a ‘corrections’ section! The excitement of a new language is something I’m quite familiar with, and it is with this ‘joie de vivre’ that I am delighted to guide you through my thought and work processes, more phonetically (than fanatically) speaking.
Syria
Since Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya the Western media are rolling out their finest propaganda on their people. Politicians are making diplomatic decisions on lies. The rumour mill is rife and its word is being taken as gospel. Take the case of the American man living in Scotland posing as a Syrian lesbian blogger who claimed, amongst other things that she was attacked by Syrian secret military policy. ‘Her’ blog was used as evidence to remove Syrian diplomats from Germany. After the truth came out, the German politicians did not reinstate the Syrian diplomats, nor did they apologise or tell the public what had happened.
Unfortunately this is not a isolated case and the BBC are explicit in this sort of propaganda, using photographs from the Iraq war and saying it was a mass murder of children by the Syrian army. This is propaganda and in international law is equal to war crime.
