“PHONETICALLY SPEAKING” To reflect the fast pace of world news, my blog is probably best served as a stream-of-consciousness text. Fast and unadulterated. With this approach, and on first encounter, text might not seem to scan. This is because I am dyslexic. Instead of keeping the proof-readers busy, I would rather let my blog updates of my visual work stand as a record of my experience of dyslexia, which I am keen that you now get to enjoy too. Unlike some news outlets, I hereby excuse myself the need for a ‘corrections’ section! The excitement of a new language is something I’m quite familiar with, and it is with this ‘joie de vivre’ that I am delighted to guide you through my thought and work processes, more phonetically (than fanatically) speaking.

Method, don’t inform the school teachers and go in guns drawn for the full experience. Allow the teachers, children and parents via mobile phone communications to fully embrace the drill.
Lauren Marionneaux, a seventh grader, “A lot of people started getting scared because we thought it was a real drill,” Lauren said. “We actually thought that someone was going to come in there and kill us.”
After the drill an email was sent to all parents, explaining they had a “lockdown active shooter drill” today, nothing to worry about it is a bit like a fire drill.
“Parents, students and staff are typically not notified about lockdown drills. For example, we do not give advanced notice of fire drills in order to evaluate how safety procedures work…We regret any concern that parents, and students might have experienced in how the drill was conducted,”
Stacy Ray, one of the mothers who was text by her daughter, she said she believed it was a real attack.
“I’m panicking because I’m thinking that it’s a legitimate shooter coming, that something bad is happening at the school
“It’s very scary, especially from a parent’s perspective,” Ray said. “You hear all this horrible stuff on the news, and you think it might be happening at your child’s school.”
